  • 450g (1 lb) mushrooms (cremini or mixed), sliced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
  • 1 tablespoon flour (or cornstarch for gluten-free)
  • 1 cup vegetable broth
  • 1/2 cup canned coconut milk or unsweetened plant-based cream
  • 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast (optional, for umami)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, for garnish
  • Cooked pasta or mashed potatoes, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Sauté the Base:
    Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onion and sauté until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute more.
